Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)

The Eucharist constitutes the very life of the Church, for the Lord said, I am the bread of life.  No one who comes to me shall ever be hungry, no one who believes in me shall ever thirst.”
This ministry assists priests at Mass with the distribution of the Body and Blood of our Lord and/or bring Holy Communion to the sick or homebound.  Additionally, some Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with setting up prior to Mass.  Some assist with breaking down the altar after Mass.
An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion must be at least sixteen years old and confirmed in the Catholic Church.  Each EMHC must complete a training class and obtain Safe Environment clearance and fingerprinting through the Diocese of Orlando (fingerprint clearance from another business or organization outside of the Orlando Diocese is not valid).
If you are interested in becoming an EMHC, please contact the parish office at 386-427-4530.
If you have already completed the EMHC training class and need to obtain Safe Environment clearance and fingerprinting through the Diocese of Orlando, please go to the “Fingerprinting/Safe Environment Training” section of this website for instructions.
